About

Started building at eleven. Never stopped.

From Wales, Wisconsin to Austin, Texas, by way of Waco, Kigali and San Francisco. A story about building things that change how people everywhere take part in the global economy, told in chapters.

Investing at nine. A company at eleven.

Growing up in Wales, Wisconsin, I was the kid who built things. I started investing in the stock market at nine, founded my first LLC at eleven, and launched a video production company, Jurss Production, at twelve. The pattern set early: see a problem, build the answer, get it into other people's hands.

By seventeen I was running Explicit Gum, a socially conscious brand and the first thing I built with a purpose bigger than the product. Proceeds went to anti-bullying campaigns and childhood cancer research, and the gum was assembled through Easter Seals by more than 200 individuals with mental or physical disabilities, which made it the first time something I built created work for other people. I also played soccer well enough to win a state championship at Kettle Moraine High School.

No matter who you are, where you are from, or where you are going: Explicit supports the individual in you.

A book at eighteen, a company at twenty.

I arrived at Baylor in 2015 and published happen., a collection of vignettes written at eighteen, on Kindle during freshman year. I studied Integrated Studies, co-founded Carbon Integrations in Waco in 2017, and spent semesters abroad in Hong Kong and Rwanda. One of those semesters changed everything.

A village without Wi-Fi, where money moved by text.

In a village without Wi-Fi or data, I watched people use mVisa and M-PESA to transact through simple text messages. My friends and I could not even split dinner. That friction became the problem I wanted to solve: the gap between who has access to financial infrastructure and who does not.

Everything since has been a version of that problem. The settlement layer I work on today exists so that value can stay in the places that create it, and so that the people who produce it can take part in the markets their work feeds.

The financial system should work for everyone, not just the people who already have access to it.
04 · 2018 to 2021The Odyssey Project

An SMS payment platform for the unbanked, built with Visa.

I came home and built The Odyssey Project: an AI-powered SMS payment platform designed for the unbanked, created in partnership with Visa through its Fintech Fast Track program. At its core was Roy Chat, a machine-learning conversation engine that processed financial transactions over text message. Around it sat RoyPOS, RoyPay, RoyBilling and RoyCard. We went through the Newchip Accelerator in 2020. I co-founded the company with Brian Smith and served as Founder, CEO and Chairman.

In 2024 the company became the subject of a peer-reviewed case study in MIS Quarterly Executive, How the Odyssey Project Is Using Old and Cutting-Edge Technologies for Financial Inclusion, by Samia Cornelius Bhatti and Dorothy E. Leidner.

Six patents at the card network, during the 2021 institutional wave.

I joined Visa's blockchain product team in 2021, helping issuers, acquirers, fintechs and Web3 companies access Visa's network for digital asset use cases. I co-invented six blockchain patents, was named in Visa's published research on paying blockchain gas fees with a card, and helped build the infrastructure connecting card networks to on-chain settlement. Stablecoin settlement, live on Visa and Mastercard rails.

As VP and Global Head of Strategy, Blockchain Solutions at Nuvei, I led the global distribution, strategy and growth of blockchain payment solutions across 200+ markets, owned infrastructure strategy and ecosystem partnerships for the digital asset and stablecoin product suite, and brought stablecoin settlement live on both Visa and Mastercard rails. In December 2024 Nuvei launched its blockchain payment solution for Latin American merchants with Rain, BitGo and Visa.

This was also when the thinking went public: PYMNTS features on the network-of-networks thesis, Nuvei's 2026 payment trends report, and stages at Consensus, Circle Stablecoin Day, the PayFi Summit and Payments MAGnified. The record is on the media page.

Digital assets, globally, on a platform built for many rails.

Today I lead digital assets globally at PXP, a payments orchestration platform processing €30B+ annually across 30+ countries: worldwide strategy, product direction and commercial growth for stablecoin settlement, on-chain FX and tokenized financial products across its unified acquiring and orchestration platform.

PXP's premise is one integration into many acquirers, many payment methods, many markets. Adding digital asset rails to that layer is not a bolt-on. It is the next payment method in a platform already designed to route intelligently between them, so businesses can settle in the right instrument for each corridor, automatically. That is the thesis, in full.
